What makes a good leader?
A good leader doesn't leave anyone behind, is thoughtful and doesn't humiliate people.
Is leadership different for disabled people?
Yes - I believe it makes us more eager to succeed. We can also be treated differently when less successful because people may attribute this to our disability.
My individual vision is as a more empathetic, emotionally intelligent leader who does sometimes over think issues. I'll also fight more for others and for what I believe because of my previous bad experiences.
Do you think there are barriers to leadership for disabled people that non- disabled people don't face?
Yes - we face the same barriers as other people less valued by society. We are sometimes patronised or treated as though having a disability makes us less intelligent.
