Success and Failure Leadership

manipulated image of barack obama

Have you been watching Obama since he moved into the White House?

Have you been watching his moves, and listening to what he has to say? Many people have been waiting for him to 'fail', focusing on what he does wrong rather than his success.

He shows us that we can all lead. It doesn't matter who we are As David Taylor, in his book ‘Naked Leadership’ tells us:

‘…everyone is a leader, that’s every single person, including you..’

Obama is very clear when things are difficult and when he doesn't always get things right.

The question is are you going to take the lead? Yes you! Or are you worried that you won't succeed?

Don't lead on your own

Is leadership really all about success or failure?

Looking at leadership this way, is not helpful?

Thinking of taking the lead?

Well don't do it on your own. Share ideas with people around you? This gets rid of some of the fear and helps you make good decisions.

Sharing our ideas can help us do what we want to do, better. Sync is about working things through together.

President Obama certainly doesn't lead on his own!

You don't have to be perfect

Leading can feel very scary because most of the time, we think we are not going to be a good leader and that we will fail.

Who says you have to be perfect? No-one is perfect. Obama isn't perfect. He makes mistakes. We all do.

Don't let fear stop you from grabbing the chance to lead.

Why not think about leading as a chance to grow into being a really happy person?

Get off the couch

We all know that it's hard to get off the couch unless you are inspired and that fear of failing can keep make you into a couch potato.

Who or what makes you feel you want to get up and go and change things for yourself and other people in 2010 and beyond?

Who inspires you?
